EDITORIAL POLICY

Evidence before recommendation.

Tideline’s value depends on being clear about what a source proves—and what it does not. The editorial policy applies to the interactive planner and every standalone shore guide.

Source hierarchy

Rules, closures and agency boundaries are traced to official government sources whenever available. Coordinates are labeled by their source and datum. Forecasts are time-stamped. Modeled depth and habitat layers are described as models or mapped references rather than live measurements.

Facts, orientation and uncertainty

Historical access coordinates are presented as orientation references, not verified fishing positions. Potential target species are habitat prompts, not catch claims. Every guide keeps uncertainty visible through source dates, verification scope, rule notes and safety cautions.

Commercial independence

Sponsors or advertisers may not change a legal, safety or evidence conclusion. Paid relationships will be labeled. Tideline does not sell placement inside a “best spot” ranking and does not accept payment to remove a material warning.

Corrections

Corrections are reviewed against the strongest available source. A useful report includes the page, the statement at issue and a link or photo showing the current condition. Send corrections to clouhine@gmail.com.
